FAQ
First of all, cement contact with soft tissues is avoided because all cement work takes place outside of the patient’s oral cavity. In addition, the number of fittings and adjustments is reduced, the denture will not be internally stressed and, therefore, the risk of screw loosening or breakage is minimal.

How is a crown made on an implant if the distance from the neck of the implant to the antagonist’s tooth is only 4.7 mm?
Juniper Rose –
Do you have more context for your question? Yes that sounds like extremely limited space for both the abutment and crown and I would question whether the lab can do it and whether the final result won’t be compromised. Why is there such a vertical limitation?
JakeKaaay –
The patient’s teeth are severely worn, he is 62 and has bruxism. Probably they were short due to anatomical features. I do not know many details of the patient brought by his son from Costa Rica.

For cement fixation, this is very small, the abutment will have to be cut to a height of 3-3.5 mm. And if this is a single restoration, then such a crown will not last long. But screw fixation is not suitable for everyone. Multi-unit abutments from Uniqa Dental – type V can fit if you have a bridge of at least two teeth. If this is a single restoration, I recommend using the t-base height. In this case, you make and fix the crown on the abutment outside patient mouth, and screw the finished structure into the implant. It will hold up much better.
