It is a complex of procedures and equipment from the intraoral scanner to the CNC machine that makes a digital impression of the patient’s mouth. On the basis of the file obtained, it turns out a ready-made prosthesis with an accuracy exceeding that of the classic technology. All Uniqa Dental customers have access to a library with files of digital images of abutments, scan markers, and other components for CAD/CAM technologies.

The key difference is the fit level. The internal hexagon scan marker is inserted at the implant level and the abutment is then fitted according to the results of the scan. The scan marker for multi-units, on the other hand, is placed on the already existing abutment, and the position of the abutment is modeled on the future restoration.

They are made of titanium-vanadium-aluminum alloy Grade 23, which outperforms all other implant materials in terms of plasticity. This reduces the risk of screw breakage or cracking of the implants in the apex area where the walls are thinnest.

The only difference is in the attachment shank. In classical technology, the shank has to fit into the socket left by the transfer. In digital dentistry, the jaw model is printed on a 3D printer and the implant analogue is screwed into a nut that is fixed into the model.

CAD/CAM technology allows the fabrication of dentures bypassing the jaw model stage. For complex cases, however, a model is printed on a 3D printer for fitting and adjusting the restoration. The Scan body implant level H9 for Osstem® Conical Connection TS™ System Mini / NP, for example, is inserted into such a model, which accurately replicates the real implant in the oral cavity.

Scan markers are made of PEEK plastic which has a contrasting surface easily visible to the scanner.  They are also durable and stable enough for repeated use.
