First, the multi-unit abutment is placed, which will form the basis for future restoration. A healing cap is placed on this abutment to form a soft tissue well around it in which the base of the dental restoration will be placed. The permanent abutment will not be removed, which means the gingiva will not be injured and the integrity of the gingival cuff will not be compromised. This reduces bone resorption around the implant.

The only difference is in the base. While the classic implant analogue has a shank for fixation in the socket left by the transfer, the digital implant analogue has a threaded fixation and a base nut that fits in the 3D-printed model.
