The patient brought his crown – how to remove a broken screw from a dental implant in the right way? Thank you

Don’t panic everything is solved. There are several ways, but first, take a retinogram to see how long the screw fragment is left in the implant and if there is any misalignment. Arm yourself with a microscope or at least binocular glasses with at least 5x magnification.
The good news is that the surface of the chip is always uneven and often there is a thread on the end of the chip that can be hooked.
As a tool, I use a sharpened dental probe, I get a screwdriver with a slot width of 0.7-0.8.
Regardless of whether the chip is moving, always use a lubricant. A lubricant for the tips of dental drills is suitable. Lubrication is important, even a moving piece can get stuck if you don’t use lube.
If you can’t hook and unscrew the chip with a homemade screwdriver, you can try to cut a slot for a screwdriver on the end of the chip. For this, an ultrasonic drill with the thinnest nozzle is suitable. True, after this procedure, you will have to say goodbye to the nozzle and buy a new one.
If simple methods do not help, you need a special kit to remove broken screws. Or direct the patient immediately to a colleague who has such a set.
But I have not encountered the problem of broken screws for 4 years. Switched to a platform from Uniqa Dental, they make implants, abutments, and clinical screws from Grade 23 titanium alloy, which is more ductile and not as brittle as Grade 4 or even Grade 5. The screws do not break.

Prostho here. There should be no preload on this screw so it should be loose. I take a cotton swab with the wooden shank and break it. Then I use the broken wooden handle or the tip of the cotton swab to unscrew the screw. You will impress everyone with this.

There’s retrieval kits you can asl your rep about. I also use piezo on the top of the screw and the vibration can help loosen things a bit then back it out with an endo explorer. A microscope helps.
